Engineering leader who |
I lead global engineering teams, ship products, and build great things with Rails, Node.js, React, and AWS. I write about what I'm learning along the way.
I lead with heart —
because people matter
and results matter.
I'm a Director of Engineering with deep technical roots in Ruby on Rails, Node.js, React, and AWS. I've gone from writing the code to leading the people who write it — and I use that context to make better decisions about systems, process, and people.
I write about engineering and leadership at The Reality Check and The Blueprint.
I turn ambiguity into momentum by creating clarity, ownership, and flow. I map dependencies early, get the right people in the room, and build with a light plan that gives teams direction without slowing them down. Everyone knows what they own, work is sequenced to minimize blockers, and the team has enough structure to move fast without creating chaos.
I stay hands-on where it matters and out of the way where it doesn't.
I run two publications — honest takes from someone who's been on both sides of the code review.

Engineering Leadership That Actually Works
The rebel's guide to engineering leadership.
When I'm not thinking about engineering I'm usually somewhere with a camera. Travel, street, whatever catches my eye.
Whether it's a conversation about engineering, something I've written, or what you're building — I'm always open to connecting with interesting people.
